Ready to Try a New Genre?

I first met Zhang Ling through Amazon Crossing’s World Book Day celebration. A Single Swallow completely captivated me. Ling’s first English translated novel had everything wonderful about the historical fiction genre in it. The review I wrote captured the attention of her marketing team, and ever since I’ve received an ARC in my mailbox for subsequent releases.

Nothing has hounded more, though, than not being able to read her most famous work Aftershock which inspired the famous IMAX motion picture. Collaborating with her translator, Shelly Bryant, Ling reimagines the story of Tangshan earthquake of 1976, which left 242,000 casualties behind, for English readers.

I’m inviting you, if you have never read:

>A translated work

>A novel set in China

>A historical fiction based on true events

>Prose that reads like poetry

Join me this month, to read this novel!
